No changes for Hermana Oram! I am starting to think I will spend all 18 months here in Zamorano. Its pretty here and green and the mangos are starting to get really good so I will take another change. Saturday we had a baptism. Well let’s just say nothing, nothing runs smoothly baptism day. Satan never wants a baptism and he does everything to try to stop it from happening. Well he isn’t all that powerful. It started out Saturday morning when we went to the chapel and found the font full of mud and leaves (the font is just a concrete box outside that has a faucet to fill with water). Well after cleaning it all out we filled it up. Well we didn’t close the plug all the way so about an hour before the baptism we got a call that the font was almost EMPTY. Miraculously I didn’t freak out I just called my good old friend old investigator who is the ¨water god¨ he is in control of all the water that only comes for a few hours every other day well Saturday isn’t one of these days but I got friends in high places so he said he would do what he could and open up the water that it would come to the church. Well 5pm came and the water didn’t and well we said a prayer and still no water but all the priesthood showed up which was the miracle we had been praying for the whole week because we were worried about having enough witnesses. Well all the men just gathered around and said “no, we can’t have a baptism it is impossible we will just have to wait for the next week.” Well then I lost it but luckily Maria Eugenia was there and she just got back from her mission not too long ago and she went up the hill and asked a nonmember if we could borrow some water. She came back and ordered all the men to go up with buckets and bring back water to fill the font. So all the priesthood went up with a bucket and took turns up and down the hill to bring enough water to the font to have a baptism. It was seriously the greatest thing I have ever seen all the branch was there to support this 14 year old girl that was getting baptized by herself. It was the most beautiful baptism I have ever seen we started an hour late in the dark and the water was freezing but the church was full of more people than that come on Sunday. Our Heavenly Father is a God of miracles and like one of the sisters said during the baptism ¨Heavenly Father is having a fiesta right now he is so happy for this baptism¨. There is miracles everyday of our lives and I will never forget as each and every member of the priesthood took there turn carried a bucket of water to fill the font.
I love you all.
Don’t waste water,
Hermana Oram
